President Trump on Monday trolled pop singer Taylor Swift, the latest in their years-long feud, boasting to reporters that he outranks her on the TikTok app.
Taylor Swift was number 11. I’m number one in TikTok, by far,” Trump said while riffing in response to a reporter’s question about Elon Musk’s SpaceX.
Though the President has fewer followers on the platform than Swift, and neither is among the top 10 creators by following, Trump was likely referring to a different metric, citing “new numbers.”
The White House and Trump frequently troll Taylor Swift, including recently with a video montage promoting the “America’s Era Tour,” a spin on Swift’s 2024 The Eras Tour.

While speaking to reporters in the Oval Office on Monday, Trump was highlighting American companies, led by “high IQ people” like Elon Musk, when he turned to address the potential dangers of TikTok. China’s ByteDance formerly owned the app, but a large share of the company was sold to Oracle, the private equity firm Silver Lake, and the Abu Dhabi-based MGX last year as part of a joint-venture divestment plan approved by Trump.
“Now, there’s a thing called TikTok. Have you heard of it? I was watching a show this morning, Maria Bartiromo, she’s fantastic, and on her show they were talking about the dangers of TikTok and Chinese, you know, a whole thing with spying and what they’re doing with it,” Trump said.
“Well, except it was announced about two days ago, the new numbers just came out. You know who the number one person on TikTok is by far? Trump, Me.”
The President continued, “I’m number one, like Taylor Swift was number 11. I’m number one in TikTok, by far!”
Trump went on to defend TikTok, arguing “They’re talking about their tremendous danger because they influence, but if they influence so badly, I mean I’m saying all things like I love our country, we got to stop communism, we got to do this and that, we’re going to do a lot, we’re doing a lot of things, but I’m by far number one.”
“I was number one by a lot, so I guess maybe, I don’t know, maybe they’re bad, maybe they’re not. I know one thing: great American people, tremendous business people, and companies bought it,” he continued.

The White House also took aim at Taylor Swift’s Madison Square Garden wedding last week, giving her a brutal reminder that “Trump is your President” in an AI-generated spoof of her attention-seeking behavior.
